the 64-bit version of the Guild Wars 2 Windows installer from ArenaNet.This looks like a lot, but I’ve just been incredibly verbose for those that need a bit more direction. I’ll step through everything I did to get Guild Wars 2 up-and-running at a reasonable framerate for me. This worked alright as well, a bit better than the PlayOnMac one, but didn’t have any nice config & install capabilities like some of the wrappers do. The next thing I tried was a straight Wine build – version 6.5 (wine-devel-6.5-os圆4) which I downloaded from here. They fixed the download problem in 4.4.2, but they made that version require macOS 10.15+ for some reason. It worked alright for general PvE, but it was still too slow even on basic graphics settings and the code to install different WINE versions was broken. ![]() The first thing I tried was PlayOnMac 4.4.1. So it really should be able to handle this really old game… What I Tried (Click the images for larger versions.) The project your referring to that is working on macOS Catalina and Big Sur is my fork of Wineskin, I simply downloaded the source from here, compiled the custom llvm/clang-8 into an Xcode Toolchain then compiled it like you would normally compile wine (just need to force disable some options)Ĭurrently the following third-party projects support macOS Catalina/Big Sur in some manner Why won't WineHQ packages work on macOS Catalina and above?, well the patches needed to get wine working on macOS Catalina aka wine32on64 consists of thousands of patches and requires a custom version of llvm/clang-8 to compile it, this it's considered a hack and won't be integrated into upstream wine anytime soon. ![]() ![]() Winebottler hasn't been updated since 2018‑05‑07, the current version is "Winebottler 4.0.1.1 Development" and only supports Mojave and High SierraĬodeWeavers aka the company who hires some of the wine developers directly had released CrossOver-19 December last year that works on macOS Mojave and CrossOver-20 will function on El Capitan to Big Sur. WineHQ packages don't support running 32Bit windows application on macOS Catalina and above that statement still stands.
